The CleftStone Works
The CleftStone Works is a wholesale, importing distributor and manufacturer of natural stone tile surfaces used in residential and commercial construction. Founded in 1994 by Chuck Stiefvater and Peter Galgano, The CleftStone Works is leading supplier of imported slate, limestone, and sandstone.
CleftStone is a type of stone finish found on natural stone and can apply to a variety of stone finishes, such as tumbled or cobbled. Their product line includes 36 different stones from Brazil, China, India, South Africa, and Turkey and they stock large quantities of natural-cleft and honed monochrome and multicolor slate, quartz, limestone, travertine and sandstone in sizes up to 24x24.

The CleftStone Works stocks large quantities of natural-cleft and honed monochrome and multicolor slate, quartz, limestone, travertine and sandstone in sizes up to 24x24. Over the years, their cutting facility has expanded to offer all sizes from 1x1 to 24x24, and can produce a limitless number of stunning custom patterns. Their collections are availables in various shapes including squares, rectangles, pentagons, hexagons and more and can produce tiles with either a brushed, tumbled or cobbled finish to give it an antiqued “old world” look.
